Svenja Phoenix Altan
ABOUT
Svenja Phoenix Altan (born 1979 in Lübeck, Germany) is a contemporary artist, living and working in Berlin. She studied at the University of Arts in Berlin. After a decade in communications and creative direction, she returns to her ultimate passion: conceptual and 3-dimentional art.
Her chosen focus medium is Ceramics. She creates expressive sculptures and objects by tapping into her intuitive feminine side. She lets the material guide her and is drawn by bold combinations of glazes, colours and textures. In her work, she explores the concepts of perfection and imperfection, toughness and vulnerability, as well as the conscious and subconscious. “There are so many layers to the human condition“, Phoenix Altan says.
